Glass Memory

A woman's face in three-quarter profile — but every surface is stained glass. The skin is rendered in amber and gold panels, each one a different warmth and translucency. The eye is emerald, backlit and startling against the warm surrounding tones. Red lips are two precise panels of deep ruby. The hair cascades in dark teal and cobalt shards. Black leading traces the contours of her features like a master draftsman's line, turning anatomy into architecture. Against pure black, the face glows from within. The portrait is both completely figurative and completely abstract — you know exactly who you're looking at, but every inch is glass.
