The Last Light

A solitary figure stands in profile against gray nothing — head bowed, arms at its sides, posture reading as exhaustion or contemplation. The body is mechanical: smooth chrome plates, visible servos at the joints, a helmet-like cranium with no visible face. But warm amber light pours from within — through gaps in the armor, along the spine in horizontal bands, from the joints and connection points. The figure glows from inside like a dying furnace. No external light exists. The warm internal luminance against the cold metallic shell and the empty gray void creates something profoundly lonely. The last machine. The last consciousness. Still standing, still lit, still alone.
