Sunset Ascension

A rocket climbs through blue-gray storm clouds toward an oversized orange moon — the exhaust trail a white column connecting earth to sky. The rocket itself is analog-beautiful: wood paneling visible on the fuselage, copper booster rings, a spire topped with a needle-thin antenna. Below, an ornate launch tower (part cathedral, part mission control) watches the ascent, its domed roof and arched windows suggesting this civilization treated space launches as sacred ceremonies. The clouds are lit from within by the exhaust: golden at the base, darkening to charcoal at the edges. The whole composition says: we launched ourselves into the unknown, and we made it look like going to church.
