Torn & Taped

A square of layered paper fragments arranged with the precision of an archivist and the instinct of a painter. Torn newsprint with visible text sits alongside blue watercolor washes and patches of ochre. Clear tape holds nothing together that wouldn't hold on its own — the tape is decorative, structural, a material choice. The edges are unfinished, the paper warped from moisture. Shot as an object against gray, the piece casts real shadows, asserting its three-dimensionality. Collage as sculpture. Repair as composition.
