She sits on the steps like a sphinx: still, patient, eternal. Her shaved head bears intricate scarification or tattoo work that catches the dim amber light. Her armor is layered leather and metal, dark green and rust-red, with a feathered crest rising from the shoulder plate that reads as both military rank and ritual significance. Layered necklaces — beaded, chained, heavy — rest on her chest like accumulated years of service. Her eyes are closed. Not sleeping — listening. The dark stone steps behind her ascend into shadow, and whatever she guards at the top of those stairs is not for you. The red and brown fabrics of her robes pool around her like dried blood or ancient earth, and the composition frames her as both obstacle and invitation: you could approach, but you'd have to pass her first, and even at rest she radiates the specific authority of someone who has never once needed to raise her voice. The threshold she protects isn't a door. It's a boundary between what you're allowed to know and what you're not.
